I wish I was talking about food connoisseurs but unfortunately not…
Once again we are seeing an increase in car number plates being stolen, victims not realising straight away that they are missing.
Between February 1 and February 6, we have had three cars targeted, two had both plates taken and the other just one.
Offenders seem to be taking standard plates which is the most common plate type stolen.
The locations are a little vague as unsure exactly when they were taken but locations are believed to be:
- Fisherman’s Pocket Road, Chatsworth
- Traveston area
- Fairway Drive Gympie – parked on the driveway when removed.
Police want to remind motorists to be vigilant, if out – park in busy well-lit areas, at home try and park in the garage or behind gates/fences.
If you do see anyone tampering with car number plates report immediately to Policelink.
If you have information for police, contact Policelink on 131 444 or provide information using the online form 24hrs per day.
