Gympie Regional Gallery’s 20th Birthday Party

An official family-friendly birthday party beginning at 10am on Saturday 3 March will include cake cutting, the opening of two exclusive volunteer-dedicated exhibitions at 2pm, live music and children?s performers, and art and craft activities.

Gympie Regional Councillor social wellbeing portfolio, Dan Stewart, says the weekend?s events will cater to all ages in the community.

Eon Fleming looking forward to making...“Celebrating the Gallery?s 20th birthday is not just for the Gallery itself, but also the many volunteers and community members who have made it what it is today,” Cr Stewart said.

“The Gallery has become a space where art, culture and friendships are created. My own children attended programs and workshops here over the years”.

“I hope to see a new generation of artists and young people utilise the gallery over the next 20 years”.

The Gallery Birthday Party will feature interactive print making workshops with the Gallery Printmaking Group, circus skills workshops with Terry the Great, slime experiences with the Magnificent Slime Queen, Clay Monsters, clay activities and magic Lightbox tracing. No bookings are required. Food stalls and drinks available.

Terry the Great jugglingFrom 2.30pm-6.00pm relax on the Gallery veranda with live folk music from the “Barley Shakes? and life drawing between 3 – 5pm with a burlesque model. Tasty tapas will be available and cash bar. No bookings are required.
