Get down to the fourth annual Duckpond Dash at Lake Alford

The annual Duckpond Dash at Lake Alford is a great opportunity for people of all ages to get a group of friends together and get walking (or running!).

The 4th Annual Senior’s Week Duckpond Dash will be held on Saturday 18 August at Lake Alford between 9am – 11.30am.

Dashers can register for the Baby-Boomer Bolt, the Grey Nomad Knockout, Club Classic or the Intergenerational Team Relay with a group of friends.

People of all fitness levels are encouraged to enter these novelty races. Weird and wacky costumes are welcome.

For a gold coin donation all entrants will be welcome to enjoy a morning Devonshire Tea and barista coffee with entertainment by the Retro Jukebox Singers.

The Duckpond Dash is a Gympie Regional Council Senior’s Week event hosted in collaboration with the Older Women’s Network – Gympie, U3A and the Gympie Men’s Shed.

Queensland Seniors Week runs from 18 to 26 August, 2018 and celebrates the valuable contribution of older people in our community.

Seniors are also welcome to attend the Seniors Concert and Morning Tea on Tuesday August 21 from 10.30 at the Civic Centre.

Guests will be treated to live music, a delicious morning tea and the announcement of the 2018 Senior Citizen of the Year Awards by Mayor Mick Curran.
