Do you think our community deserves a new Community Hospital?

Steering Committee for Community Hospital Project want your signature before January 31

Then now is the time to sign the petition

The campaign by local people for a new small community hospital for Cooloola Coast residents is well and truly underway, with 1,265 residents signing the petition already.

This is estimated to be about 28% of all adults living permanently in the Cooloola Coast region.

We need a further 1,000 signatures to put beyond all doubt, as far as the State Government is concerned, that we need and want this hospital.

We now have until the end of January to get these extra signatures before presenting the petition to the Queensland Minister for Health when parliament resumes in February.

Please encourage your friends and neighbours who have yet to sign the petition to do so immediately. Petitions can be signed at the following locations:

Rainbow Beach – Rainbow Beach Medical Practice, Pharmacy, IGA

Cooloola Cove – Woolworths, Pharmacy, Thirsty Camel

Tin Can Bay – Cooloola Coast Clinic, IGA, Bakery, Country Club

This campaign is backed by local councillor, Mark McDonald, local state MP, Tony Perrett, and needs the backing of every member of our community.

The small community hospital envisaged will provide day surgery such as endoscopies and specialist skin cancer surgery.

It will encourage visiting specialists to provide medical services, so local patients have to travel less. It will also improve after-hours emergency care and transfer to regional hospitals.

It is time to stand up and be counted.
