Another light day for the second of the winter sprint series. We had eight starters this time including Michael and his son from Hervey Bay Yacht Club in their Nacro, Vendetta and our two club training boats skippered this time by Doug and John.
Bob, on the start boat, had his work cut out for him determining the courses under a shifty breeze but did a great job keeping the fleet moving and mixing it up for these short sharp races. So, getting to the results…..
The Commodore offered up a bottle of wine for the boat who chocked up the most firsts over the starting line, so we’ll all have to await the analysis of Beth’s start line photos to see who gets the plonk (sadly, I don’t think it will be me). Russell.com got three starts.
Of the six races, three wins went to Harlequin, two went to Lee and Ken on Fudge Factor and one to Tatiana, skippered by Doug. Topaz, The Vibe and Aerobic all scored a few seconds and thirds between them
No one went overboard or even ran aground, so nothing on the dirt files this week, and we all made it back for a much sought after sausage sizzle before the storm rolled in. For more information phone Jon Jones on 0408 472 187.
