Congratulations to Bundy who won their regatta in Bundaberg on July 28 which was the last regatta of the 2021 Wide Bay Series. Their win on that day gave them the win of the series three out of four.

Congratulations also to Team Cooloola for their two great wins on the day in Bundy and for the great training effort by all during the season.

On an early misty morning, the Dragons paddled out on Snapper Creek to pay a floral tribute to the passing of our dear number one supporter Jean Barnett, who passed away on July 25 aged 95. She will be missed by many. During the proceeding we were joined by three dolphins which added to the atmosphere.

Last Sunday 23 Cooloola Dragons and five Hervey Bay Dragons took two dragon boats and paddled to Carlo for morning tea and then back, which ended up being approximately 12 kilometres. We do call this a long paddle!

The senior sweep from Hervey Bay was able to assess and supervise our two trainee sweeps and the one trainee sweep from Hervey Bay as part of their accreditation course.

Please come with us any time for a “come and try” paddle. For more information about times, place, etc., please phone Helen 0407917910.
