Boaties have more time to provide vital feedback

Boaties now have until the end of April to have their say about Queensland’s recreational boating facilities.
We are asking boaties from around the state to go online and answer a few short survey questions to help us prioritise funding for boating facilities.
The popularity of recreational boating and fishing in Queensland is continually increasing and we understand the importance in investing in boating facilities.
We need boaties’ advice, because those who use these facilities know them best, and we’re asking them to help us identify opportunities for upgrades and new facilities across the state.
So far we’ve had a great response to the survey, with more than 900 people providing valuable feedback.
With a couple of long weekends coming up, we’re encouraging other boaties to try our facilities and let us know what they think.
The results so far reveal 83% of respondents are making use of our facilities frequently and 67% of respondents would like to see more recreational boating facilities in their area.
The Queensland Government last year committed $30 million to continue the Marine Infrastructure Fund in 2016/17 and 2017/18.
Feedback will be considered when planning works for the 2017-18 financial year and beyond.
If you’d like to have your say, visit www.getinvolved.qld.gov.au and complete the survey before 30 April.
