Quilting ladies with the bags they made for the nursing home

During the past month the quilters have been quite busy finishing and starting new projects.

Quite a few of the quilters made some shopping bags for the nursing home, to be used on their wheelchairs and walkers. All the fabric for these bags was donated by the quilters.

We have done a technique called ‘fracturing’; quite a few made a small one big enough for a cushion cover and on August 29 some of the ladies are making quilts using this technique.

We are also doing a block-of-the-month quilt called The Gingham Girls. This quilt has quite a lot of hand-sewing; then it will be all pieced together.

We have some great projects in the pipeline, so if you are interested just come along this month. We have had a couple of ladies who were just passing through come and join us for the morning.

We are always looking for new members and we are a friendly group!

Meet on Tuesdays at 9am at the community Complex, cnr Tin Can Bay Rd and Bayside Drive, next door to the Cooloola Bowls Club. Contact Jacquie Cross on 54864468.
