Rainbow Beach – a mecca for photographers

Visit Sunshine Coast (VSC) is delighted to announce a visit to the region by Canon Collective from 10-12 April, with two activities in Rainbow Beach.

Following a string of initiatives by VSC to attract more digital influencers and photographers to the region, this latest coup of exclusive Canon workshops and free instameets will be held across the Coast over three days.

“Canon Collective are holding several workshops and seminars across the Sunshine Coast region to assist hobbyist and professional photographers to get out there to share their passion with the digital world via social media,” said Colin Baker, Consumer Experience Manager of Canon Australia Pty Ltd.

“We’ve seen in the past few years the importance of Instagram and Facebook as highly valued resources, assisting in building online communities with common interests such as fishing clubs, car clubs and photographers. Coming to the region builds and educates a community of photographers who love the place they live and uniquely shows the world ‘their sunshine coast’ via digital marketing,” said Mr Baker.

VSC CEO, Simon Latchford welcomed the opportunity to work with a global company such as Canon to cement the region’s growing reputation as a photographer’s paradise.

“Our strategy of the past two years has been to increase brand awareness of the Sunshine Coast through digital channels and this demonstrates another major initiative to promote the region.

“Destination imagery is the number one tool to inspire travel and convert bookings to our region. It tells our Sunshine Coast story in a powerful way, and the levels of engagement we get when we share some of these amazing images on our social channels is just extraordinary.

“It’s really exciting to support an initiative that matches our region’s inspirational locations with a group of talented photographers, to capture the best of our diverse landscapes and share this with the rest of the world,” said Mr Latchford.

For those attending the Rainbow Beach Instameet, Rainbow Getaway Holiday Apartments are offering participants a saving of approximately 25% off regular accommodation rate, a free bottle of wine and a breakfast voucher.   Contact 07 5486 3500 to find out more.
