Member for Gympie, Tony Perrett, said that the Australian of the Year Awards provide a great opportunity to recognise the achievements of many locals who have made a significant contribution to the community, to the region, to the State and to Australia.
“Celebrate the achievements of a friend, family member, colleague or someone who inspires you and makes you proud. It only takes one nomination,” Mr Perrett said.
Categories include Australian of the Year, Young Australian of the Year, Senior Australian of the Year and Australia’s Local Hero.
