Keep the kids happy these holidays
For the 38th consecutive year, a holiday program of activities will once again be provided for local and visiting children, young people, and their families.
This year’s program will be running from Saturday the 28th of December through to the Friday the 3rd of January, with no program on New Year’s Day. There will be a kids and a youth program running in both the mornings and afternoons. The morning programs will be running from 10am till noon and the afternoon programs from 2pm till 4pm.
The kids programs will be held in Lawrie Hanson park near the playground, kids morning activites will consist of devotions, games, craft and some singing time while the afternoon activities will be a daily themed activity such as ball games, wet games, messy games. The youth will be located down on the beach playing beach games like cricket and volleyball in the mornings and then a variety of activities in the afternoon.
Again this year we will be holding an array of community events with the key events as follows:
Monday 30th of December “Soccer Competition” held in the park area across from the community hall, registration from 5:30pm with kick off from 6pm. There will be a free Sausage sizzle.
Tuesday 31st of December is our “Kids New Year’s Eve Party” This will be held in the community hall and grass fields outside from 5:30pm, come and enjoy some sports, old party games, dance party and face painting
Thursday 2nd of January is Rainbow’s Got Talent night, here is your opportunity to showcase your talent to the community the night will start at 6pm
Known locally as “The Tents” the program is run by volunteers from Scripture Union (www.suqld.org.au), which is an inter-denominational Christian group who conducts over 100 holiday programs around Australia each year. Annette Collins from The Church of the Good Shepherd says, “We really appreciate the effort the team put in to provide this program for us and thank everyone in our community who supports and makes this team feel so welcome each year!”
