Just married

Mr and Mrs: John and Kim Dargusch exchanging vows

Exchanging vows

On Saturday, April 18, long-time local John Dargusch married the love of his life, Kimberly Marshall, in a simple yet loving ceremony at St Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

John and Kim were married by dear family friend, Father Joe McGeehan. Father Joe was John’s parish priest throughout his childhood and has been a witness to John’s upbringing until he retired to Brisbane a few years ago.

The family are very grateful that Father Joe was able to officiate the celebration of the Sacrament of Marriage for John and Kim.

The bride, with her parents, arrived in rumbling style in Scott Fitzgerald’s classic silver SS Chevelle. Scott also drove the groom to the church and showed each of them off in a lap around town. (Thank you Scotty she looked awesome, there were many envious young and old boys ogling your pride and joy).

Kimberly, youngest daughter of Darryl and Ann Marshall of Maroochydore, and John, eldest son of Marc and Theresa Dargusch of Rainbow Beach, were joined by their family and friends at Latitude 25 Bar and Grill, Carlo Point, Rainbow Beach for their relaxed and informal reception of canapés.

The evening was chaired by their good friend Brent Klekar who did an amazing job of keeping things flowing smoothly. Thanks Brent! (and Alex for the finer details!) The couple were privileged to have John’s grandfather Roly Dargusch and his nana, Mavis Power, amongst their guests.

A special thank you to Jules and her team for their attention to detail and ensuring everyone had a wonderful night at Latitude 25 Bar and Grill. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Thanks also to Glenys Badcock of Rainbow Flora for Kim’s stunning bouquet and to Kim’s Uncle Neil who photographed the happy couple.

To our family and friends – Thank you for being our mentors, guides and teachers, our partners in crime and memory keepers. For your support and encouragement, for always being there, for the love and laughter, for joining us in our first day as husband and wife, for being a part of our happily ever after. We would have loved to invite many others to the celebration but know that we will catch up soon. All our love, John and Kim.
