Teachers having fun and being silly

Community event

The Art Festival showcased artistic endeavours from all year levels. This event was hugely successful, with terrific support from parents and relatives, as well as staff and students. It is wonderful to see the community turn out to support our talented students. A big thank you to Mrs Honeywill, Mrs Hogan, Miss Jayne, class teachers and teacher aides for your efforts.

Garage Sale Trail

Clean out your spare rooms, garages and cupboards, get rid of your clutter, and help Tin Can Bay School P&C raise money at the same time! We are participating in the annual garage sale trail on Saturday October 21, and stall and car spaces are available for $10. More information on how to secure a space will be available soon.

Brisbane Ekka Show Camp

Clara Roche is making the most of her wonderful opportunity to participate in the Brisbane Ekka Show Camp – an eight-day writing camp of only 20 students selected from all over Queensland! Students stay in dorms at the Ekka and polish their skills of report writing.

So far, students have been touring all areas of the show, going behind the scenes and even participating in some of the judging!

If you would like to follow what Clara and the other students get up to, you can read their newspaper – The Ekka Courier Online at  http://www.urbaneec.eq.edu.au/show-camp/show-camp-2017/ or follow them on Twitter at @showcamp2017

Gympie District Athletics

Well done to all students who participated at the Gympie District Athletics trials. We had several students travel into Gympie to compete and were lucky enough to have two students selected in the Gympie District Team.

Congratulations to Yves C for 12-year girls long jump and Keisha O for the 11-year-old girls 200m. The team will travel to Childers to compete. Good luck!

Seafood Festival  Help needed

We are holding a stall at the Festival to raise funds for our school – Saturday, September 23.  If you can face paint, bake cakes or help for an hour or two, we would greatly appreciate it.  Please leave your name and number at the office or call Annette Bailey (0417 864 080).
